Privacy Policy Terms of Use

Terms of Use

Last updated: 31 May 2026

These Terms govern your use of QuickCV ("the app"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. Please read them — they're not long.

QuickCV is operated by ZBR Technologies, based in Ireland. Contact: [email protected].

1. The App

QuickCV is an iOS application that helps you build, polish, and export CVs (résumés). The core features include:

The AI-assisted features require an internet connection and are powered by Google's Vertex AI (Gemini). Editing and viewing your CVs works fully offline.

2. In-App Purchases — One-Time, Per-CV

QuickCV uses consumable in-app purchases. There is no subscription.

Pricing across regions: Apple sets the localised price in each App Store region according to its pricing tier system. Prices in regions outside the Eurozone (e.g. £, $, ₹) will reflect Apple's tier-equivalent local pricing, not direct currency conversion.

3. Refunds

Apple processes all refunds via the App Store. To request a refund:

  1. Open the App Store on your device.
  2. Tap your profile picture, then "Purchase History".
  3. Find QuickCV and tap "Report a Problem".
  4. Follow Apple's process.

Refund decisions are made by Apple under their standard App Store refund policy. We have no role in approving or rejecting refunds.

Statutory rights: if you are an EU consumer, the consumer rights granted by the EU Consumer Rights Directive and (for Irish purchasers) the Irish Consumer Rights Act 2022 apply in addition to Apple's refund process. Specifically, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for most digital purchases, subject to the standard exception that this right may be lost once you start using the purchased content (which, for QuickCV, means exporting your CV). This right exists alongside Apple's process; you can pursue either route.

4. Permitted Use

You may use QuickCV for personal, lawful purposes. You agree not to:

We may suspend backend service to your device if we detect abuse (excessive requests, attempts to bypass attestation, or other clearly anomalous patterns). Suspensions are device-level and do not affect locally-stored or iCloud-stored CV data, which remains yours.

5. AI Features — How They Work and What We Don't Promise

The AI-assisted features (parse import, keyword match, gap detection, content polishing, summary generation, cover letter generation) are provided as writing aids. The AI processes your CV content (via Google's Vertex AI / Gemini) and returns suggestions that you can accept, modify, or discard.

What we don't promise:

What you are responsible for:

We accept no liability for outcomes of job applications, accuracy of AI-generated content, or decisions you make based on the app's suggestions.

6. Your Data — How We Handle It

Please read our Privacy Policy for the full picture. In summary:

7. iCloud Sync

CV data syncs to your private iCloud account if you are signed in. You are responsible for maintaining your Apple ID and iCloud storage. We have no access to your iCloud data — it's between you and Apple.

If your iCloud storage is full or sync is disabled, the app will still work on your current device but won't sync across devices. We're not responsible for sync failures caused by your iCloud configuration.

8. Intellectual Property

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep the AI backend available, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, infrastructure issues, third-party outages (Google Cloud, Vertex AI), or other factors may occasionally cause AI features to be temporarily unavailable. During outages, the app's local editing and PDF export functions continue to work.

We don't owe refunds for short-term backend unavailability, but if AI features are unavailable for an extended period during your 72-hour edit window, contact us and we'll work something out.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement.

This disclaimer does not exclude or limit:

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

EU and Irish consumer rights: nothing in these Terms limits any statutory rights you have as a consumer under Irish law or EU consumer protection law (including the Consumer Rights Act 2022 and the EU Consumer Rights Directive). Where mandatory consumer law applies, these limitations apply only to the extent permitted by that law.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves or as legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any material changes. We will notify users of significant changes via an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

If you don't agree to a material change, you can stop using the app. Your locally-stored and iCloud-stored CV data remains yours and can be exported via the standard PDF export flow before you uninstall.

13. Termination

You can terminate your use of the app at any time by deleting it from your device. See the Privacy Policy for instructions on deleting your associated data.

We may terminate or suspend backend service to your device if we detect abuse or violation of these Terms. In such cases, your locally-stored and iCloud-stored CV data remains yours; only access to backend AI features is affected.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the app will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.

This does not affect your rights as a consumer: if you are a consumer resident in an EU member state, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply where they offer protections greater than those provided under Irish law. EU consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr for disputes that cannot be resolved directly with us.

15. Contact

For questions, complaints, refund issues (after exhausting Apple's process), or any other matter:

We aim to respond to all enquiries within 5 working days.
