This policy describes how MatchBell ("we", "our", "the app") handles your information. We've written it in plain English because we want you to actually read it.

MatchBell is operated from Ireland by ZBR Technologies. We've designed the app and this policy with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in mind.

Quick summary

MatchBell is built to be one of the most privacy-respecting football apps you can install. The short version:

• We don't collect your personal data. No name, no email, no account.
• There is no login. You use the whole app as a guest. We never know who you are.
• Your followed teams, reminder settings, and preferences live on your device.
• Match reminders are scheduled on your device — we don't send you push notifications and we don't track whether you open them.
• We don't sell data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train AI models.
• We don't use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
• The app is free. There are no accounts to manage and nothing to pay for.

What we don't collect

MatchBell has no sign-up, no login, and no user profiles. We do not collect or store your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or any other personal identifier. Because there is no account, we have no way to identify an individual user.

What stays on your device

The following are stored locally on your device (and, if you have it enabled, in your own private iCloud backup), never on our servers:

• The teams, nations, and competitions you follow.
• Your chosen language and app theme.
• Your reminder preferences and notification settings.
• Widget configuration.

You can remove all of this at any time by deleting the app.

Match data and our backend

To show you fixtures, kick-off times, delayed scores, and league tables, the app requests football data from our backend service. These requests return public football information (such as match schedules and results). They are not tied to your identity and do not include any personal data about you. We do not log personal information from these requests.

App integrity (App Attest)

To stop our backend from being abused or scraped, the app uses Apple's App Attest service to confirm that requests come from a genuine, unmodified copy of MatchBell. App Attest is an app-integrity check provided by Apple. It verifies the app, not the person — it does not identify you, and it does not collect personal data.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, MatchBell schedules match reminders locally on your device using iOS. We do not operate a push-notification server, we do not send you remote messages, and we receive no information about which reminders you see or tap. You can turn notifications off at any time in the app or in iOS Settings.

Children's privacy

MatchBell does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children. As the app collects no personal information and has no account system, it does not gather data from children under any applicable age threshold.

Your GDPR rights

Under the GDPR you have rights to access, correct, and erase personal data we hold about you. Because MatchBell holds no personal data about you and cannot identify you, there is no personal data for us to retrieve, change, or delete. Deleting the app removes all data stored on your device.

Changes to this policy

If we add features in future that change how data is handled (for example optional premium features), we will update this policy and the "last updated" date above before those features collect anything. Any future premium purchases would be handled by Apple; we would never receive your payment details.
